Neighborhood Guides

Every part of Las Cruces has its own feel, from historic adobe streets to new master-planned communities. Here's a starting point for figuring out where you'd like to land.

Mesilla

A historic town on the southwest edge of Las Cruces, built around a 19th-century plaza, with adobe homes, galleries, and restaurants you can walk to.

Downtown & the Historic Districts

The original heart of Las Cruces: a walkable downtown, the farmers market on Main Street, and two historic neighborhoods full of adobe and railroad-era homes.

Near NMSU

The neighborhoods around New Mexico State University's main campus, a short trip from classes, games, and campus events.

Sonoma Ranch

Master-planned neighborhoods on the East Mesa, rising toward the Organ Mountains, with newer homes, nearby shopping, and a public golf course.

Picacho Hills

A hillside community on the West Mesa, built around a private country club, with views across the Mesilla Valley to the Organ Mountains.

Talavera

Larger homesites at the foothills of the Organ Mountains, east of town, with quick access to hiking in the national monument.

Metro Verde

A large, still-growing master-planned community on the northeast side, built around Red Hawk Golf Club, with all-electric new homes.
